Simply put, we have evolved as beings that survived nutritionally on foods that came from plants and animals. Our bodies have developed into machines that can properly digest these foods without negative side effects. Processed foods and foods that are primarily made from refined white flour are unnatural to our system, and our body responds to these foods in negative ways. So we're changing the standards of the Food Pyramid

The foods we are interested in are not only very nutritious and healthy for you, but also slowly disperse sugars into your system, and that's the KEY!!! The highly processed foods of our generation release surges of sugar into the system and are unnatural to our bodies digestion. So, how do we track which foods are good for our system and which aren't??? The Glycemic Index. Also known as the GI Index, this is a system for tracking how much sugar a food will release into your system at once when digested.
